Paul Klee said, “A drawing is simply a line going for a walk.”  A couple of well crafted lines can make a space “be something.”  Serene, angry, folded…..

My lines start as black drawn on white.  The excitement is to reproduce the lines in fiber with texture and color.

Why fiber is probably something I will never understand.  It just has to be.  Every time I try to work with lines in another medium the results are unsatisfying and I come back to fiber.

The dyeing, color blending, spinning and weaving present different challenges with every project and every new project grows from what I learned in the previous one.

Weaving small tapestries gives me the flexibility to experiment with new ideas and the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and take risks to see what I can create.
