A
full-time artist, weaver, and teacher Deborah discovered weaving in 1996, when
her life-long love of fiber, texture, and color came together. Prior to 2005,
Deborah devoted her talents to creating wearable art, weaving hundreds of garments
and accessories for sale and exhibition across the country.
At that time she
increased the scope of her work to include non-functional art including large-scale
wall pieces and liturgical banners. In addition to
commissioned work installed in various places around California, her pieces
appear in many national and international exhibits, winning numerous awards.
When not at the loom, Deborah enjoys writing about weaving or teaching fiber
and weaving classes.
Since 2004, Deborah has been an Artist-in-Residence, teacher,
and weaver at Studio Channel Islands Art Center in Camarillo, CA, where she
was instrumental
in developing the Fiber Arts Studio.
