Sandra's
goal as a handweaver is interesting cloth: layered, rich, unusual cloth that
engages the senses, cloth that industry can't produce. She weaves one-of-a-kind
wall-hangings, scarves, and shawls using natural fibers, combining fine threads
and complex designs. Her work is inspired by nature – trees, flowers,
feathers, for example.
Trained in England during the 1990s, Sandra has studied with local, national,
and international weaving teachers; maintains membership in weaving and textile
organizations worldwide; and exhibits nationally in juried fine craft events
such as the American Craft Council and Smithsonian Craft Show.
